Won a Dunhill on the fleabay for a relatively non painful amount. Description is "Dunhill Bruyere ODA 853 F/T". Exterior cosmetics look very good but who knows about the innards.
Very nice score, from that pic it looks to be in pretty damn fine condition. I hope it looks the same when you get it in your hands and that the inside does in fact mirror the exterior. Congrats and let us know how it turns out when you get the pipe.
So far so good, as long as the stem is original and the chamber isn't crispy. Remember, you can always restain and rewax the outside to a mirror shine, but a heavily charred chamber ....
Finally got the ODA and it is a big 'un alright, Group 6 at least. The pipe looks as good externally as the eBay pic showed. It's entirely free of any defects, dents or any visible imperfections at all, stem included. Internally it shows to have been used but very lovingly and/or or very little. Very thin cake, apparently unreamed, and pipe cleaners come out unsullied from shank and stem. All in all a good result--a near perfect 45 year old big Dunhill for two bills. Color is more like the following pic. EBay pics that are not badly under exposed or out of focus are usually on the too warm side.
