It surprised me that they didn't just make it one piece.Cool, I would never have assumed. Thanks!
I bet this makes it significantly heavier.

Pity the chamber isn't a bit larger. It will make a nice display piece though. It's weight is 1.68 oz.and more purchasable too darn it.
Never really wanted a calabash. Like them but never felt like the right pipe.Pity the chamber isn't a bit larger. It will make a nice display piece though. It's weight is 1.68 oz.
That is quite interesting, especially from a construction stand point, that cant be easy to make. The removable bowl and cooling chamber are both block meerschaum. The "gourd" is just stained.

I myself would have concerns over it's fragility (unless it's really heavily walled), but I also tend to be a little rough on meer for some reason, Iv'e broken a few unfortunately.
Did you buy it??????
Is that your first calabash? I figured you'd end up getting one of those strange Yanik gourds.Right before posting this thread.
I had a Pioneer several years ago, mainly just got this one to look at. Yanik's are a bit too out there for me.Is that your first calabash? I figured you'd end up getting one of those strange Yanik gourds.
Probably, I've seen deeper ones made. I may have to modify the cork seal with sandpaper to make it fit.Can you get a larger bowl insert?
I've thought about just leaving the insert our and filling the cooling chamber with ribbon cut.Otherwise you might have to die cut plugs of tobacco to fit the chamber.
