Has anyone tried all of these blends? Opinions/ranking? I am making my first Wilke order and would be thankful for any advice regarding this Balkan, 10. Thanks.

***Nevermind. I misread. No. 10 is no longer produced as many of you, I am sure, know. Crossed wires here. Great way to start the week.

Peretti Tashkent has grown on me over the past 6 months. Worth a try. See if you like.
Peretti Royal I have in my ratings as smokey and enjoyable, but I lean more towards Crown.

I've smoked all but Wilke 10. Peretti Royal and White Knight are excellent tobaccos reminiscent of Sobranie White. Wonderful Oriental character, where Latakia is a supporting player (which I prefer). All day smokers for me. I prefer Royal to White Knight, but it's only by a nose. Tashkent is a one of a kind. You would think a blend with no Virginia would not be that pleasant, but this is a clean, vibrant, incense like smoke. If you have a taste for it, no other Latakia mixture will satisfy. If Peretti did nothing else, their invention of Tashkent would merit their fame. Balkan Sasieni is not as fine as these three, but is still a solid middle of the road Balkan. The Orientals are what fails me here. They are present but nothing special.

That's for sure. For me Tashkent feels like it's missing it's core. I miss the Virginia. Even so I do appreciate it as an interesting experiment, worth trying if you like orientals.

I love Tashkent and it is a slam dunk smoke with a bit of stoved Virginia mixed in...maybe 30 Virginia: 70 Tashkent.

I like all of the Peretti Balkans. Thinking of trying a few ounces of Loch Lomond. But the original reason for the question is that I wanted to buy some Wilke #10...which is out of production. So that is not going to happen.

Hahaha... so you're basically saying it's needs Virginia? Not sure you can call something a slam dunk if its off by 30%.

No. I like it as it is blended. But sometimes I want a bit of sweetness from a Virginia. Royal, I smoke as is. But Tashkent has a different profile and I do add Virginia at times. Not all of the time.
