Why Aren’t There More Sav 616s?

The Savinelli 616KS is my favorite shape of all the Savinelli/Rossi lineups. However, a lot of the lines/designs that I really like aren’t offered in the 616. Case in point: never seen a Miele 616, or a Tortuga 616.
Is the 616 a “low seller?”

I guess they’re priced right along with anything that isn’t a Punto Oro or Giubileo d’Oro. ?‍

I see quite a few lines offering the shape at SPC. The rarity was one reason I used to collect the 904s. Rarer still is the 440.

They have a pretty good selection, but compare the 616 stock to the 320 stock and you’ll see what I mean.

Well, I just snagged this estate pipe. First estate 616 punto or giubileo I’ve seen come up in a while, although I really only look occasionally for them. The new ones are just more than I can justify spending on a non-commissioned pipe.

Thanks, we’ll see what it looks like in person. Description said some minor rim darkening and carbon in the chamber. Sounds like it was occasionally smoked but in good shape.

Don't think I've ever seen a rusticated Punto Oro. With that Capri rustication it looks amazing!

I might be dreaming, but I think I’ve seen some Capri and Corallo Puntos come up on occasion in other shapes, but that’s certainly the first 616 I’ve noticed.

Same here. I did a double take. The stem looks fantastically comfortable, and although I don't like rustication, I like yours.

The Capris I’ve seen are all either the darker brown stain like that one, or a more reddish Bordeaux stain. The Corallos, natural. I have no idea if that’s always the case though. ?‍

Capris come in gold, brown, and bordeaux.

I had a good long look at that Punto Oro today.

Interesting! I find the Savinelli lines quite confusing! I’ve mainly seen rusticated punto oros that were natural .. must have been the Corallo? That’s a nice looking pipe though ?
