I would want to play bass for Gov't Mule with as a trio - their original bassist, Allen Woody, was a huge inspiration to me as a teenager - this inspiration was part of the reason I ended up moving to Nashville and ended up playing on the road for a few years.

The original trio lineup had such a huge sound - Woody would play a fair amount of power chords on the bass; the sound of power chords on a short scale bass going through an Ampeg 8x10 speaker cabinet is a freakin amazing thing.

My dream team Blues/Rock lineup?

Lead guitar: Stevie Ray Vaughn
Rhythm guitar: Carlos Santana
Bass: Bootsy Collins
Drums: Rick Allen (Def Leppard)
Keyboards: Tori Amos
Vocals: Kenny Wayne Shepherd

All are dual purpose. If I could sneak another guitarist/ vocalist it'd be Jimi Hendrix.

I don't know. So many times greats together equals disappointment. At that level of great musicianship I find either people get egoed up and everyone thinks they're the star always or the opposite happens and everyone is too humble to tell someone else what isn't working.

Though I love the guy, he was a true master on the guitar but in my opinion he had no singing voice. Rather like Keith Richards (Rolling Stones), he can't sing for toffee either puffy

Jay.
Oh dear jay.

Jimi was reckoned to have a beautiful voice when he decided to use it. I know some women found it very seductive.

And Keef is just a typical rock singer no better no worse than many out there.

No one could replace Allen Woody in that band but, I would LOVE to jam with Warren Haines and Matt Abts!
