Good afternoon guys,
Do any major retailers trade pipes for tobacco? I am looking to unload one of my two pipes, for some tins, and not sure where to start at.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Smokingpipes.com will give you purchase credit on a percent of their assessed value

of your pipes. This can be used for buying anything on the site including

tinned tobacco, and a good selection of bulk as well. Or they will pay cash, but at

a much lower percent. They resell these as estate pipes, so they can't use low-end

or burnt out pipes. But if you have some mid-or-better level pipes that just don't

suit you, you can use your pipes toward tobacco. I don't know of anyone else doing

this, though I'd be interested to hear about any others. I don't think my tobacconist

chain or my independent pipe shop can do this. It's too labor intensive to renovate

the pipes and retail them as estate pipes. You get an offer from SMC, and you can

take it or leave it. On two occasions they've been generous enough to close the deal

with me. I just don't want to keep pipes that I don't smoke. I've never just thrown a

pipe out. I've found "homes" for them one way or another. See smokingpipes.com

for all the details.
