This past January (2019) I bought some Amphora VA and have since bought a bunch more, it’s a great dark VA at a really great price!

Saturday I picked up some Gawith Dark Flake Unscented. It was fresh and still a tremendous smoke. I can't imagine how good it will be with maybe 5 years on it. And here I thought my cellar was done.

A few weeks ago, one tin of each: Mac Baren - Capstan Gold Navy Cut / Yellow Flake, Cornell & Diehl - Star of the East Flake and Mac Baren - St. Bruno Flake and I'm done buying new tobacco. My favorite pipe tobaccos are set.

On 11/06/2018 I ordered 7 tins of Savinelli Doblone d'Oro to try it out. I really liked it so I ordered another 33 tins for a total of 40 100 gram tins. It was on sale and I got them all for 15.36 a tin which I thought was a heck of a deal.

Last week I bought a tub of Hearth & Home's Chatham Manor. So far I'm not getting along with this blend. I've tried it in several cobs, briars and meerschaums. I'm not giving up on it, but things don't look good.

Never cared for it either. I always preferred Carter Hall.

I guess it was in this previous year of 2018 that I first tried Penhooker Green, Vengeur Silver.

I am not a menthol fan, which seems to be what I taste in the 'green'.

The Vengeur Silver is a fairly complex, smooth and tasty blend with VA, Burley, and Samsun/Turkish.
Will trade the Penhooker Green for food.

Charatan Flake, Black Flake & Rolls are the last new blends I've been enjoying and I have GQ Tobaccos Clementine's Nip & Nottingham Lace Noir on their way which I can't wait to try as they received such glowing reviews on TR.

Everything I buy is new to me, just about. Today smoking Viprati and HH Burley Flake for the first time. Dang! I've tried a couple dozen new-to-me blends that are classics in the last couple of months. Something tells me that I'll look back on this period fondly and wistfully!
