With Fathers Day upon us tomorrow, what celebratory smokes are all the dads planning? I've got a couple options in the works, but we will see if the stars align for a little piping tomorrow.
I had time today, so I enjoyed my Father's Day smoke early. I used my new morta from Mr Brog. It is a huge pipe with a small chamber. I spent an hour and 15 minutes on this bowl. This is a new record for me. Too bad, I didn't enjoy the blend. But tastes change.
I'll be smoking my Savinelli Clark's Favorite (my favorite pipe). Not sure what tobacco I'll be smoking tomorrow. I still have about a dozen samples from the Chicago Pipe Show I haven't tried yet. It will be one or two of them.
I took the day off to be with my daughter and her husband along with the wife. Gonna crack a fresh plug of Warrior and grab one of my favorite Meer Cuttys and have at it... :D
Years ago, my youngest daughter was with me at a B&M, and at four years old, she picked me out a pipe and I bought it. A few years later, when speaking with my dad for the last time before he passed, I shared a bowl of ODF with him in that same pipe while sitting with him on his porch. That pipe is a Savinelli Alligator 904, and a tradition of mine is to burn a bowl of ODF on his birthday and Father's Day as a way of remembering him, and to think of happy times growing up and becoming a Father myself.
I enjoyed some Dark Star today that I bought not too long ago from a fellow member. Great smoke. I also enjoyed some Telegraph Hill with my brother at my folks house, where we had a nice dinner with our dad.
Not sure, but leaning towards some FMC to end the day.
A grim day for me pipe smoking. Seasonal allergies have me stuffed to the gills. But I will be enjoying a bowl of Smyrna topped by a few grams of Penzance. In a Dunhill that's a replica of my first pipe.
Now smoking the pipe that my lady got me for Father's Day. A 50/50 mix of 40th Anniverary and a mix of Macedonia, Izmir, and Yenidje in a pre '70s Savinelli Deluxe Siena Sand 9004. Oriental heaven with sweet and spicy.
