You can smoke any tobacco in any pipe you want. Certain types may ghost a pipe, but this is fairly easily remedied. One of the joys of pipe smoking is discovering what you like...you'll learn soon enough if you don't want to mix and match, or if you want to devote one pipe to a specific style, or a specific blend. Experimenting is half the fun!
 
I am rather new to this hobby as well and I am dedicating a set of pipes to Lat and Perique blends not so much due to a flavor ghost but a "nose" ghost. I have super sensitive sense of smell and I have noticed, for example, that if I go to something other than a Lat blend in a pipe I have smoked Latakia in I can smell the Lat and that of course affects my taste. I have not smoked lakeland yet and my guess is I will also devote a pipe to those if I like them. Of course as always do what's best for you. For some it may not matter diddly. For others it may. For yet others dedicating pipes to certain blends may be just an excuse to buy more pipes ;)
