Title edited. Please see Rule nine.
Recently one of my relatives passed away, he was 98 and a pipe smoker till the day he died. He was for all intents and purposes a codger to the enth degree. He and I were very close and he had given me several pipes over the years, but when he passed I inherited ALL his pipes and accessories. He was not given to spending a great deal of money on his pipes and he smoked them until they were absolutely unsmokable, to point of taping and gluing them back together. He got every penny worth of his pipes, and enjoyed every minute of it.
So among the stuff i inherited was a tub full of pipes that zero value other than sentimental. Now I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out something meaningful to do with these destroyed pipes, and I finally figured it out.
I made pens out them. Here’s two I made for his two sons who are neither smokers. I cut the shanks off two pipes to make each pen. Hope you enjoy.
