Ask Alexa to play you "Waltzing With Bears," an absurdist lyric about Uncle Walter who keeps escaping the family home to, yes, go waltzing with bears -- shaggy bears, raggy bears, saggy bears too. The hair of the bears shows up on his new coat, then some new torn spots. When he's finally convinced to stay home, the bears barge in and insist on taking Uncle Walter dancing, at least one dance a day. It's as insane and witty as it sounds. I believe it is on youTube too. Then ask Alexa to play you "Be Kind To Your Parents," with Pete Seeger singing. It's a lyric urging kids, in the same slightly condescending tone people take toward children's behavior -- to "be kind to your parents, even though they don't deserve it," etc. Because one day you may wake up and find you're a parent too.

Being in the mood for some bagpipe rock, listened to the blazing pipes of the Red Hot Chilli Pipers on Spotify. They do it up well from their rendition of Scotland the Brave to Smoke on the Water.

Currently listening to Steely Dan ~ Countdown To Ecstacy.
Ultimately my favorite SD album.
I got a chuckle out of the liner notes that Don & Walt penned in the remastered CD...particularly the part where they warned that anyone who considers CTE to be the best SD album is:
"not the sort of individual you want sitting across the table from you at a dinner party, especially one where alcoholic beverages are being served"
... and went on to elaborate even further regarding such an unsavory individual. LOL
Listening to some Dixie Dregs ~ Free Fall.
Dregs is great stuff. Interesting trivia related to that album:
I always remembered the cover art of them jumping out of a plane. They were signed to Capricorn records to record that album in '77 with the help of Twiggs Lyndon, Allman Bros road manager, who also worked with the Dregs for a while. Two years later Lyndon died skydiving when his chute didn't open properly (and the plane had taken off from "Duanesburg"...go figure).
The full Lyndon story is quite a tale...would make a great movie.

I was listening to some Elvis, earlier this evening, on LP.

Here's an iconic live performance of "Polk Salad Annie"

Mr. Wild.
For some reason, this album takes me back to the one homeplace in my youth that I never wanted to leave.
