All my pipes are special and while I do have 12+ pipes unsmoked I cannot just limit to one. Same with Audio gear, Whiskey, Wine...But I am a Harley Guy though.
Smokability I'd put my cobs up there with anything. If we are talking like looks or collectible, that feeling was very short lived for me in my pipe smoking so I don't think I can name one. My gigis are beautiful to me and great smokers. I guess I've got mine then.
I usually don't play by the OP. But, third series of Peterson Sherlock Holmes. The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes series. Yeah, that would fill the spot for grail for me. All 4 pipes in NOS condition in smooth terracotta finish. Right after that would be all SH series in meerschaum. All 18 pipes.
I've been fortunate to have obtained the majority of my holy grail pipes. The only one would be a Sixten Ivarsson, because I consider him the most influential carver of the 20th century. But I can't justify the cost, especially with putting a kid through college, so it will remain the one I never got.
I had a list of 20 "Grail" pipes, and over a decade found all of them. A few, I discovered weren't really my style and were sold.

Sometimes I find a holy grail pipe smoking my old favorites. It's funny how you forget how good some of your pipes are.
