First off - kudos to those of you who have felt the need to quit drinking entirely and have done so. Takes a big man to see what you need to do, and stick with it. Great job guys.
I'll celebrate with red wine, champagne, or perhaps a good beer, depending on the occasion.

Special ocassions definitely call for whisky in my family. My dad and I prefer Lagavulin 16 (only for VERY special ocassions) and Talisker 10, followed by Balvenie 12 for him and Laphroiag 10 for me. My mom won't touch peat and sticks with Irish whisky-Red Breast would be the celebratory bottle for her. We'll also open an old cellared bottle of red, depending on the situation.

I would say my favorite scotch, thus far, Buchanan's on the rocks. 18 yr old on special occasions and the 12 yr old all other times!
