What Do You Re-Purpose

...or adapt or whatever word you want to use, for your pipe smoking, pipes or tobacco?

Inspired by the tamper thread and all the different things folks use to tamp down I'm sure there will be a wider collection of items designed for something else that you guys n gals have transformed into a handy pipe accessory or tool, so what do you use?

I'll kick off with this semi-hard sunglasses case that's perfect size for holding a pipe, pouch with enough tobacco for 3-4 smokes, lighter, tamper, pipe cleaner, filters etc, basically you can fit everything you need for a days or two's pipe smoking in it. I take it out with me most weekends when popping out for lunch or drinks etc

Tins. I use them for nuts and washers etc. it’s super handy, because when my wife helps me build shit instead of confusing her by saying hand me a (insert measurement) (insert screw type) I can just say “grab me 4 capstan blues!”

Yes I seem to also reverse the situation here too. My favorite is since I have a thing with pens, im using an old square to keep my ink refills in. I also have a tin that I keep Band-Aids in, and one for my jigsaw blades.

I repurpose these Amphora pouches to carry around all kinds of tobacco.

And I have a hard case toilet bag, in which I store my pipes, when I am travelling.

I used to keep a tin around for nails and such, but switched over to jars.

For me it is more like what things have I re-purposed to use for pipes. Did you know that cotton balls and mineral oil aren't just for cleaning up estate pipes?!

I repurpose old tins for cigar butts. When the tin is full I seal it up and throw them away.

Never had the chance or cash, and now that I can make my own I just don't want to 'waste' leather on such a thing. Well, maybe if one of these days I get ahold of some chrome tanned inexpensive leather...
