Having for the first time a La Gloria Cubana Serie R No. 4 Natural.

After I placed this order, several days or weeks later, I can’t remember, I called WCC and Ernie answered, we had a really nice chat.

Ernie is great! 👍 ❤️

He mentioned to me these brands are under General Cigar Co. & Scandanavia Tobacco Group, and not what they use to be. I believe he said better to avoid, something along these lines. I trust his opinion, as I’m sure he’s smoked a lot more cigars and more experience than me.

So I’ll be avoiding these General Cigar Co. & Scandanavia Tobacco Group brands in the future.

Hoyo de Monterrey
La Gloria Cubana
Macanudo
Partagas
Punch

When I cut the cap off, tasting the end, I admit, it had some really seriously nice tobacco flavors going on. But the draw is a little tight, and starting out, it’s certainly smooth, but not much complexity.

Well, I only started on it, if it turns out to be something more, I’ll report back.

Be well everyone! 🤙 ❤️

La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero 660 tonight. Smoking in the garage because the mosquitoes are downright wicked outside right now. Too hot and humid in the garage, but the need to unwind after a long day is more than my desire for AC! View attachment 330739

I thought cigars are suppose to be good mosquito repellents? Hmm 🤔 LOL 😝

La Flor Dominicana is on my list for down the road! Enjoy! 😊

P.S. You were asking in the past about Peppered cigars, the AJ Fernandez Enclave Broadleaf Toro didn’t turn out to be the pepper bomb I read online. I found it slightly sweet and mild.

The last of my box purchase from late 2015 (I think) ; Saint Luis Rey Serie G natural. Aged pretty well but I'm not going to replace them, they a nice medium bodied but mild-medium flavour. Good creamy smoke, light pepper, not complex but solid smoke.
Aged very well actually but a little mild to my tastes now. Would be a good choice for beginners coming from mild Connecticut sticks, which is what I was doing at the time.

Took my time toasting this one after watching the Davidoff video @PipeIT posted - definitely worth the effort 👌
That first puff was fantastic, glad that was posted up.
Also, looking forward to another delivery next week to post in the Cigar TAD thread🫡

A sorely-needed non-productive weekend continues. My goal is 3 cigars today (amidst some much-needed garden work). Let's see where we end up.

First up is this '18 Demi Tasse I forgot about in my car for a couple weeks (oops!). I once heard from a long-time cigar smoker that leaving cigars that age well in a hot car for a few weeks was a great way to "age then quickly." It's easy to overshoot the mark and end up with a bundle of dried leaves that tastes like a bundle of dried leaves, so I've only done it maybe a dozen times, and most of those times was accidental like this time.

This model didn't have any of the coffee notes I associate with the blend, lacked the creaminess I find in better examples, and burned even quicker than normal (which is saying something for a cigar that is a 4 x 30RG). Beyond that, the citrus was absolutely full and detailed (resembling lemon the most) and the coffeecake notes were so pronounced, I could not deny that was exactly what I was tasting.

Montesino Napoleon Grande. I've wanted to try these for years now, but only now bit the bullet and added a 5 pack to a recent order. I've put away lots of Montesinos before and being a Fuente product, they always aged well. Considering this is the cheapo short-filler vitola in an already affordable line, I didn't expect much. I am pleasantly surprised on how good this is - just as good as the long-filler vitolas, but in a fun size.
