I dont usually carry my phone with me, but the other day while walking past our horse pasture, the beauty over took me.Just a beautiful day here in the mid-state with low humidity and cool temps.
As if that wasn't enough to make the day a winner, Watch City took it upon themselves to send me a nice package with some goodies in there. Included are my first two HU tobaccos. I have been "peer pressured" into getting some by @PaulRVA and his frequent posts.....
So.... I loaded up my home-made pipe with Edward G. and tried it. While I'm not ready to say it is one of my new favorites.... it may be one of my new favorites.
The flavors of all of the Virginias were very present and tasty and the perique continually made it's presence known. Just a wonderful blend. If this is indicative of HU blends, then sign me up......

Three of the horses were enjoying munching some grass while I enjoyed my Edwad G.
My pastures were so nice and green prior to our summer drought. Now they look rough.

Nice score brother! That Capstan was mine and it must’ve been miss-routed to youJust a beautiful day here in the mid-state with low humidity and cool temps.

I almost forgot how much I hated Beltway traffic. Being retired I can’t run lights anymore but still made good time up to Camden Yards and back from Richmond for a Game. It’s good to be back home and finally have a pipe and the lack of one during the day made for a long one.
C&D Exclusive in a Castello 31 and an Americano️ on the side and a Pic of Mookie Betts smacking his Homer and Ohtani doing the same

Good tips, Paul.Nice score brother! That Capstan was mine and it must’ve been miss-routed to youI’ll pm you my address. The Edward G really sings the drier it gets. Play with it and see what you like. I dry the whole Tin for 24 hrs and place it back in the Tin. It gets better for me every time I dip into it after that. Jim might have some better advice on it but so far it’s been a great smoke for me.
@Sigmund turned me on to the HU line when it hit the US market and every blend he suggested to me was a winner. Louisiana Broken is another must try IMHO.
Didn't know it's a shag cut blend now. I'm glad I still have a couple of tins of the old stuff. I wonder how different it tastes now. I tried the 2019 version in Vegas that year, and while it was still coin cut with a little loose broken flake, it had changed by then. They decreased the perique by at least 40%.Good tips, Paul.
I will take it out of the jar and put it back in the tin to dry more and give it a test drive. I'm not sure that it can get much better than what I experienced today as it was a delight. Oh, and I did look up @JimInks review and he gave it four stars, but that was back in 2013 and he said that it was in coin cut form which was not the current shag type cut that they are now using. Any ideas, appreciated.
Finally, thanks to @Sigmund for kicking the ball off.
I can't wait to try the other HU offerings.

Its a hodgepodge now Some coins some shag and some broken flake.Didn't know it's a shag cut blend now. I'm glad I still have a couple of tins of the old stuff. I wonder how different it tastes now. Thank you @gordHaving a quick dinner break right now, and looked over the posts . . . . Hey, Paul, I gotta give you today's Kewpie for this pipe. Not because its stellar (which I don't know the first thing about, lol) or valuable (which I also don't know anything about) or because it is stunningly beautiful (which it ain't), or because it caught my eye (which it does, every time I see the thing), but because it's butt ugly in the "Monster Cute" vein and was the direct inspiration for my search for my own "Cute Monster," the infamous Mr. Brog #52 "Scoot", Miss Piggy, which I just put out on the "on deck" rack for an upcoming evening smoke for a viewing of one of the great monster movies of all time, "Young Frankentstein". Sort of a retroactive and well deserved Homage to the genre. So, here ya go, man!!![]()
Gotta also compliment you on those terrific baseball photos, and looking forward to what yu can do for NFL football, eh? Which of course, is my favourite spectator sport
Going to give one more late this evening, but will need to find it, first. Will do that later. Like an idiot, I didn't notate the page. Have to sort crabapples and get to the store for more baggies and Saran Wrap now. Cheers!
