Legends Hudson's Bay in an unsmoked (until now) vintage 80s Trypis made here in Ontario, Canada.

It's my very favourite Virginia and this pipe smoked beautifully. Very open draw. Makes for a nice cadence. Stays quite cool in spite of the thinner walls.

Being a virgin pipe, I'm getting very raw, true flavours.

Branching off from cigar smoking into pipe smoking I selected the following to start with. I tend towards medium to full strength with cigars but not being familiar with pipe tobacco, I selected several mild, a couple of medium and 1 full strength blend. I tried to stick with ribbon cut until I become more experienced. This is what I selected:

1. Fribourg & Treyer Waterloo #2

2. Dunhill Blends Early Morning Pipe

3. Rat tray Dark Fragrant

4. Peterson Sweet Killarney

5. Chacom St Claude

6. Mac Baren HH Acadian Perique

I plan on trying the “Early Morning Pipe” first.

Feel free to post any suggestion or comments on any of these.

Relaxing after eating four wonderful jumbo cheeseburgers with a bowl of strawberry ice cream for dessert. I've about a third of a bowl left of year 2013 Dunhill Flake in a straight smooth 1960 Dunhill DRA 137 group 4 root briar canted dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching the Braves-Giants game, and getting ready to clean a few pipes.

Dunhill Aperitif (delicious!) in my Savinelli Miele 611 KS bent dublin. Drinking a scotch highball. Bird report: California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, Mountain chickadee, White-breasted nuthatch, Northern flicker, and Dark-eyed junco. The marketing execs at Peterson must be kicking themselves for failing to pick this one up when they took over the Dunhill line. For shame!
