Temps now ... Wed, Oct 30 ... definitely "crisp", "brisk", with the classic Nov look today = solid gray sky, maybe almost 90% of trees devoid of leaves, Oct's colorful beauty now almost completely gone until next year.
NOTE: I say "YAY" because ... very strange to most, probably bizarre ... Nov's actually my favorite month, although Oct's very close!
Enjoying another great parfait = Balkan Supreme topped with Mac Baren Plumcake in my Peterson 999 Army.
QUES: Even though my cellar has numerous C&D blends, those with more experience with C&D, any commentary on their Atlas Balkan or their Super Balkan? I may be influenced for some future TAD.
QUES2: For my Pipe Club Brother, Tedvig ... are we holding 2 "long lost relatives"?

Been a few days since my last pipe, and with an infrequent Mac Baren Plumcake exception, also been a few months since my last latakia blend. Loaded up a Savinelli Bacco 321 rusticated author with my 2nd to last bowl of ASTB (sample), and shared a glass of brandy with wifey in the workspace as we took care of some fabrication for a project tomorrow. She even tried the blend, said it tasted like the back of an old storeroom where they keep stuff that doesn't sell too often. I thought that summed it up pretty nicely! 9/10

Bird report: California towhee, Dark-eyed junco, White-crowned sparrow, House finch, Golden-crowned sparrow, California quail, California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, Hairy woodpecker, Band-tailed pigeon, American crow, Mountain chickadee, Northern flicker, and Western bluebird.

Got down to 22 last night. 'Tis the season!

A third of the way through this bowl of year 2018 Solani 633 in a straight 1954 patent Dunhill 148 Group 3 black shell bulldog made for the France market with a black saddle vulcanite stem. Daisy the Feral Princess wanted in, and instead of eating as I figured she would, she wanted to be with me. I got her off my lap and on the arm of the chair so I could post this smoke. The Dodgers won the World Series in a gritty style, and took advantage of sloppy Yankees defense in this game.

@fishmansf - Admirable persistence. I enjoyed it right from the first pipeful; some call it straightforward and uncomplicated, but personally I find there's a lot going on with it. Some say it takes at least half a tin to understand it, and I'd go along with that. Perhaps it's the Meer? What else do you smoke SC in?
Thank you! It could be the meer. I don't seem to have trouble with this pipe anymore after I gave it a good cleaning but here we are... I should give it more time. First 5 sips are nice but after that, don't get much but hot air/ashy/tar like taste from it and I am smoking it softer and slower than I should!

Did a little low calorie snacking, and am a third of the way through this bowl of KBV Prince of Wales 2023 in a straight smooth terracotta 2014 Sherlock Holmes Baker Street bulldog with sterling silver band and a tapered black p-lip stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Nearing the last quarter of this bowl of Watch City American Cut Plug Mixture in a straight smooth brown undated Gesandt Canadian Made in England with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe was originally owned by Poul Schluter, who was the Prime Minister of Denmark from 1982-1993. Been enjoying quiet reading time.

A third of the way through this bowl of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a 2015 Basil Meadows Bing Crosby Merchant Service replica with a smooth straight thin shank, aluminum band and black ebonite stem. This was the first “Bing” that Basil made. I've been busy with the ferals, and as possums are eating their food, I decided to let the cats in to eat one at a time inside. That includes Harry the Hairy. I knew something was up the last couple of days because Harry just doesn't eat as much food as I was putting down. Their water bowl being dirty was another indication of the possums taking their food and water. The ferals here don't dirty up the water. Anyway, I did see a possum, and chased it away right before I started writing this post, but I know it and any other one will be back. I'm going to feed them inside at night, and the possums can go elsewhere.
