Starting my day with Cornell & Diehl Pegasus in a Country Gentleman cob with an old Danish bit stem, and trying out Vauen's 6mm Dr. Perl Junior charcoal filters for the first time. Also wishing it wasn't -8°F out here! 🥶

My initial impression of the 6mm Dr. Perl charcoal filters is that they definitely seem to offer the best filtration of any of the 6mm filter options and smooth out the rough edges of a blend a ton, without dampening the flavor like the paper Dr. Grabow or Medico filters can. The only real downside to the charcoal filters is that they tighten up the draw quite a bit, but it seems like a worthwhile trade off for how good of a job they do taking all the harshness out of a Burley blend without lessening the flavor. puffy

Smoking now the always so very good SG Skiff Mixture. In a George Leoussis piece, which is actually a special Anniversary pipe for his 10 years in the Craft or should I better say Art of pipe making.
A happy week to you good people!

1/2 bowl of Peter Stockebye #96 London Export cigarette tobacco (virginia) in the Peterson pub pipe with 9mm filter. I was running low on tobacco and bought this brand and some Rouseco Golden Harvest Silver to try and fill the gap. While the RGHS is very mild its a bit bland and doesn't really develop any flavor until the second half of a bowl. The #96 is overwhelming flavor right from the Start and far stronger. Its closer to pipe tobacco. I'm not advocating but if you were in a pinch ...the #96 is a very good flavorful smoke. I would buy that again but not RGHS. In fact I may try other PS blends now.
Great experiment! I love doing that kind of thing . . . . did a similar adventure dumping the tobacco out of cigars and putting them in a pipe. Lots of flops, but a couple of real keepers.

To @BriarBrook I fortunately survived 44 years of work and have graduated to a 67 yr. retired Codger lol, I have found the humbler a man lives, the more comfort he will always have, because he will be more fitted to receive it.
