My girlfriend and I are traveling and visiting relatives for Christmas, so we exchanged presents early to avoid lugging our gifts all over, only to bring them home again. One of the gifts she gave me is a Yocan Dry Herb Vaporizer for my pipe tobacco on the go. This is probably sacrilege here, but, it's also the 21st Century, so I figured why not share this? I'm having Pirate Kake in the Yocan Vane. The smoke is warmer than I'd like (combustion is taking place only 1/2" from my mouth as opposed to 6" like it normally would from a pipe). The taste is clean. I like the portability and flexibility of this device that'll allow me to smoke in places I might not normally (I don't usually take my pipes on the go), and I especially love that my sweetheart got me something so thoughtful, trying to make it possible for me to enjoy my pipe tobacco anywhere. It's no substitute for a pipe, but I can see it coming in handy in a pinch.

2006 haddos delight in a claw meer. Opened with a nice satisfying whoosh sound as I barely cracked the seal. Sounded like a firework going off lol. Immediately I was hit with the scent of raisins (from the perique I assume and that wonderful funk of a fine aged virginia.
A great way to cap off my birthday.

Did a little snacking, and am smoking Wilke Crystal Palace in a dark brown smooth straight post-WW2 LHS Certified Purex 79 bulldog with a nickel ferrule and tenon with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Time to feed the ferals before I go back to work.

Don’t ya love a kiwi Christmas. I’m standing on the deck in my boxers cos it’s too bloody hot, filling in for Saint Nick. It’s been about 18months since I last tried deer tongue, I forgot how much I enjoy it. View attachment 116719
I never tried deer tongue blend I’m intrigued does it really taste similar to vanilla bean?

From memory it was more tarragon tasting, and the vanilla flavour was kind of medicinal/plantlike, I’d also get hits of it whenever the grass was alight. However having sat in the the jar for a a bit, the flavours have melded really nicely, and the whole smoke is almost like Marsala/or a vanilla shot added to espresso.
