AAAAAGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the worst days I've had in years.

Left the forum a bit after 1:00 pm, and took a nap. WOKE UP AT 7:00 PM. Slept 6 hours. Mike usually arrives at 7:30 on Fridays for a smoke. He arrived on time. I was barely awake. I never eat or smoke until at least an hour after I wake up. I had a quick snack.

Figured about the only thing I could handle would be Mad Fiddler. Loaded my dedicated Ropp J16 and had possibly the worst smoke I've ever had from any tobacco. Tasted terrible and so did my mouth. Tried a Swishers Sweet Grape Cigar and it was even worse. BLAGGHHHHHHHHH!

I just can't smoke or eat until at least an hour after I wake up. And can't smoke for an hour after eating, period. Tried a relight of both pipe and cigar, and they tasted like camel droppings.

As I write this, I'm going back to bed and will probably stare at the ceiling till 6:00 AM marveling at my stupidity, and wonder how many fine tobacco's I've misjudged smoking them under similar or borderline conditions. Moron, know thyself. Staying away from the computer until I return to what normal I possess. Not even going to check for speling mistakes. Over and out.

And the bears are out . . . one just knocked over and tried to open my garbage can and bear-bangers are going off all over the place. No, I'm not kidding about any of this schiesen. Will be back unless the Pilsbury Doughboy appears over the hill.
I've had a similar experience, I've smoked as soon as I've woke up and the smoke just don't taste right. After bout an hour my taste buds wake up. I've found drinking something first helps.

Had a lot of prep to do around the ranch on this foggy day for this snowstorm the media has been unsurprisingly silent about, but I was able to end the day with what was supposed to be my post-dinner bowl from yesterday, Dunhill Aperitif in a Savinelli Bacco 321 rusticated author. 9/10

Bird report: White-crowned sparrow, House finch, California towhee, Steller's jay, American crow, California scrub-jay, California quail, Red-tailed hawk, Northern flicker, Oak titmouse, White-breasted nuthatch, Western bluebird, Mountain chickadee, Spotted towhee, and Golden-crowned sparrow.

Baked salmon and scalloped potatoes on the docket for tonight, and a much anticipated viewing of The Big Lebowski for about the 50th time. That rug really tied the room together...

On the menu for my morning smoke was half a bowl of C&D Bayou Morning loaded in my Savinelli Porto Cervo 127 and paired with a drip coffee.

Afterwards, and for my final smoke for the next couple of days while I recover (I'm having a minor procedure done today), was half of a bowl of GH&Co Dark Plug loaded in my Guildhall with the remainder of my coffee.

Hope you all have a great day!
