Passing the quarter mark of this bowl of year 2012 Anniversary Kake in a smooth burgundy medium bend 1979 Chippendale (Charatan second) Rhodesian 49 with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Smokes as well as a first and worth the $19.95 I paid for it all those years ago. Getting ready to clean the pipes that I smoked today.

Last post for a few days. Sad news . . . my little buddy Ricoh is not going to make it through the day. He hasn't eaten for 4 days, and hasn't taken water for three. 23 years old, totally blind and deaf for the past 5 years, and just lying at my feet now, barely breathing. He has displayed more courage than most people I've ever known, and will miss him. No replacement planned either. He's one of a kind. No regrets, either. It's his time.

Going to specialist to schedule hernia operation presently, and leaving for Vanderhoof tomorrow or Thursday, to take in Triduum with a family there who has invited me, interestingly the family that gave me my mutt when he was six years old, and am packing my travel kit now, Ricoh is sleeping peacefully and will probably and mercifully not wake up. Other wonderful event is watching one of my former very beautiful ex-students being Baptised and Confirmed during the Triduum . . . her husband is next, and I'm sure we'll share a few pipefuls (he's one of the scoundrels that got me into the labyrinth . . . . . :ROFLMAO: )

Will continue my series of interesting (to me, anyways) smokes when I return after Easter Sunday. Leaving you with one of those special smokes as of late, a memorable and excellent two hour puff with my best long smoker, my Savinelli Avorio, and one of my favorite (still can't get used to the American spelling but I'll try; "favourite" just looks right lol) cherry aromatics, TobaccoBarn's Bing Cherry. No forgettable drivel today methinks.

Did a little low calorie snacking, and have a third of a bowl left of year 2020 D&R Penhooker in a 1999 smooth dark brown full bend Tim West egg with a tapered black acrylic stem. Haven't smoked this pipe in a long time, so I figured why not now? :) Ice water and bergs is my drink. Tomato the Brave came in to eat, and then spent a half hour snoozin' on my lap. He's by my feet now.

My condolences for your loss sir, you will be in my prayers, God bless.

Now smoking year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a late '80s, early 90s small bend medium brown smooth, unbranded Nording pot with a couple of small rusticated spots, an amber colored acrylic ferrule and tapered stem in the military mount style.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am smoking year 2015 D&R A.B. Rimboche in an undated slight bend, smooth flame grain Wessex Standard egg with a brown accent on the black vulcanite saddle stem. Did a little bowl scrubbing on the estase pipe that I S&A'd, and am going to do some mortise cleaning on other estate pipes.

Started the day with the usual, Black Irish X in the Cobbit. Seems a fitting tribute to @gord 's canine companion, undoubtedly the longest-lived dog I've ever heard of, whose frequent Black Irish X-esque desposits I am sure he will come to miss. Ricoh achieved levels of codgerdom to which the rest of us can only aspireIMG_20250311_081443~2.jpg
