There’s layering but he did it without pitch correction or ProTools. It was all for real.
I saw them live way back when and even in the middle of a tour his voice was incredible.

Here's an amazing performance of "Jumpin' with Synphony Sid" from a September 25, 1958 TV show called "Art Ford's Jazz Party" that includes: Lester Young, Coleman Hawkins, tenor sax; Charlie Shavers, trumpet; J C Higginbotham, trombone; Pee Wee Russell, clarinet; Harry Sheppard, vibraphone; Willie "The Lion" Smith, piano; Dickie Thompson, guitar; Vinnie Burke, bass; Sonny Greer, drums
At times, it gets a little "campy" but it harkens back to those smooth groove days of early 80's buttery lyrics and funky rhythms.
Longtime Entombed frontman, LG Petrov, succumbed to cancer today at the age of 49. While certainly not everyone's cup of tea, they were absolutely wild live.
