My mother could take a guitar and belt out the latest Connie Smith hit, and just slay my father.

When a Connie Smith song played over the kitchen radio, they’d dance all around the kitchen.

There are still lots of talented pretty girl singers.

The musicians who back them are even more talented, I think.

But we need new Bill Andersons to write the songs for them. Anderson wrote all of the early Connie Smith monster hits.
