It's also the effect created by tacking it onto the end of The Load Out that transforms it into something much more than it otherwise is (imo).
Oh yes, Brian! ... and 1000 miles away from here people stay....
I bought this album when it came out.
Somewhere in another thread I wrote rhat this song was used by a German brewery to advertise one of their beers. You could also buy this record...what i did, of course.

Kottan, long before The Hollies, the version I heard as a teen was the one by the composer, Maurice Williams and his group The Zodiacs. By the way, Maurice wrote the song in 1953, when he was 15 years old.

Hi dino,
I find it always interesting how a song developes or to learn who recorded it first. As a teen I didn't care. Later I found out that e.g. many songs by the Beatles or Stones were originally written/recorded by Chuck Berry.

The Mavericks.
Saw them last Saturday at ACL Live - Moody Theater.
This was their 5th song of the night, and they ran the instrumental chord progression for about 3 minutes; louder and Louder and LOUDER!
People cried, not feeling such energy for a year.
