Last night I moved my baccy cabinet about 2 feet. Didn't think about it much. Opened it up today and out falls a jar of 3 Nuns with 2 years of age- only one bowl smoked. That's sucks.
I'm sure I could have salvaged much but don't enjoy glass in my pipe. Trashed it all. :(

I would've salvaged it. It's not chewing tobacco, big deal if there were a few bits of glass in it, they have no flavor. I would've reserved a filtered cob for it just to be sure I didn't suck any fine glass particles into my mouth, and to be able to toss the pipe later on, and I would've stuffed it using tweezers and a tamper to be sure not to get any shards in my fingers.

It's better than watching a hand made pipe crack in half on the floor. Look on the bright side.

Nice try, Tarak, but we all know you were testing the theory of The Flying Nun(s). I'm onto you... :puffpipe:

My first impulse would be to pick out the tobacco with fingers and tweezers and assume it could be separated from the glass. However, being one who once had to have an inhaled dental crown removed from my lung under sedation, and allowing for the idea that even a small bit of glass could make its way back through the stem of a pipe and get inhaled, I think you did the right thing. Another tin of tobacco is way cheaper than a trip to the lung specialist.

I'd pick out all the glass I could see. Then pick up each coin and inspect it and shake it off and put it into another container. Glass doesn't burn. It would have been worse if this were a cube or ribbon tobacco.

It's a bummer, but not a total loss and a life lesson to boot!

The right choice was definitely made.

You don't want to take the slightest chance of inhaling even a microscopic piece of glass.
