In the semi-rural NorthEastern USA
This has been addressed multiple times on multiple threads across multiple forums. We are a VERY small family run company. We are doing our best to increase production and working with the importer on ways to ensure a better more consistent supply BUT as many products are handmade and hand packed, it is labour intensive and takes a long time to make the product. In the last 2 years when the world has been shut down by a pandemic and we have battled Brexit in the UK, we have actually shipped far more product to America than ever before and opened new markets in new countries. But we always have to ensure we maintain quality over quantity. And we do not advertise particularly as tobacco advertising is banned. The reviews are for the new catalogue and website and we wanted our customers to be involved. Those that have have smoked our products for years. Not all of these, in fact many are not in America.
More production would be great. But you know what's better then more. Quality. Rather have to look around and not always be able to get it when I can afford it then have it turned into another product or changed from what it is to meet demand. Just letting you guys know that some people do actually get that sometimes getting what you want involved limitations and those limitations are just part of life and often times are better then the alternatives.
Thanks for doing what you do and not selling out or make compromises in search of a quick buck (or pound I guess.).

Massive thank you to everyone that has taken the time to submit a review or two. There is some great feedback and I will go through each individual submission and take note of points and queries raised and try and address these in due course. If anyone has yet to give a review and would like to or if you'd like to review further products please do so.

We could do with a few more reviews of Gawith Hoggarth mixtures, Gawith Exclusiv blends, American Blends and Twists.

Pop along to http://www.gawithhoggarth.co.uk and click on contribute at the top. The forms are very simple - just choose a score from 1 to 5 for a handful of questions and then you can leave a more detailed review at the bottom.

Thanks again.

I’ve started on some twist reviews. I noticed that there is not an option for sweet coconut twist. I’m guessing that this blend has been discontinued. It’s a shame, as after trying all of your brown and black ropes in all of their bore sizes, most of the sauced and aromatic stuff, as well as what you produce for synjeco, the sweet coconut was in a league of its own.

Much appreciated. Nothing has been discontinued as such, we just no longer hold stock of blends that did not sell in larger quantities. These can still be ordered but the retailer/distributor needs to order in the minimum order quantity and its a special order.

Hi All!

Gawith Hoggarth & Co are putting together a new catalogue and also a new website.
We'd like input and feedback from people who smoke our products.
So I've put together some review forms where you can give a review on each one of our products (Gawith Hoggarth and Samuel Gawith pipe tobacco brands).

You can access all the forms from our website - Gawith Hoggarth & Co

Or to access individual forms, please do so here:

KENDAL TWIST - https://forms.gle/uVgX4cNLhSnxfFFJ6 Kendal Twist
Gawith Hoggarth American Blends - https://forms.gle/VBVqm7vWd1DXthoG8 GH American Blends
Gawith Hoggarth Plugs - https://forms.gle/ugmj98GrHGVVKkMAA Gawith Hoggarth Plugs
Gawith Hoggarth Flakes - https://forms.gle/Ygb6HPMNQQb2aiRG9 Gawith Hoggarth Flakes
Gawith Hoggarth Exclusiv Range - https://forms.gle/552GcDWqsnq2kTKv5 Gawith Hoggarth Exclusive Range

Samuel Gawith Plugs - https://forms.gle/4A5aHzEQHa8qb8ka8 Samuel Gawith Plugs
Samuel Gawith Flakes - https://forms.gle/5Xg4QusxdHYrBuX48 Samuel Gawith Flakes

You can review as many products as you like but will need to fill in a new form for each one.
Please note that by doing so you give us the right to reproduce your review or parts of it in the catalogue and on the website.

We hope to have lots more opportunity for customer engagement in the future.

Rachel

P.S Any issues with the forms let me know, they have been tested but never can tell with "computer and website" stuff!
Hi Rachel, survey taken. I couldn’t find Revor Plug though on either G&H plugs or SG plugs though - have I missed it somehow?

There are some inconsistencies in the forms. Cabbies is under ‘mixtures’, Curly Cut (+/-Deluxe) is under ‘twists’, Bosun is under ‘flakes’ and ‘plugs’, Conniston is under ‘plugs’. Couldn’t find Lakeland Dark or Dark Birdseye.
Also, please don’t stop making the Synjeco offerings because THEY ROCK.

The problem with the supply in the US is the fact that too many people are buying it in far greater quantities than they’ll ever smoke. I’m all for having a stock of product, but it’s honestly overboard because the tobaccolypse is near. ?‍♂️

They are listed as they appear on our price list and catalogue for distributors/retailers. And how we classify them. For example it is "Coniston Cut Plug" so it is under plugs? Curly Cut is a sliced Twist. Bosun is produced as a flake and Bosun cut plug and Bosun Plug. Dark Birds Eye is a Gawith's Mixture. Cabbies is a Samuel Gawith's Mixture.

Thanks for your reply, I don’t intend to come off as a smartass lawyer, love your products and do smoke many of them, very often. Keep up the good work, you are unique in the pipe world!

edit: left quite a few reviews earlier.

Remember the saying? Quality vs quantity. I would guess a lot of people on this forum would prefer the quality. When I lived in Delaware I owned a small blueberry farm. Organic only. Our blueberries tasted great, and customers knew what they were getting, and we sold out before lunch time every day. But I wanted to provide the best quality I could.
