Hello all,
I recently purchased a very old tin of Velvet (no bar code) that was never opened. I was very excited to rehydrate and smoke it but it has a very strong ammonia/urine smell. Idk if it can be saved or if it has gone bad. I appreciate all help as i am newer to pipe smoking. Thank you so much!

well that ammonia happened to a semois I left open for a few weeks - air mustve gotten beyond the seal(broken)
I wouldn't waste my time - you reminded me I had 2 vintage tins I've been meaning to look at myself
