Hi everyone. I am looking at the Meer lined Vauen pipes and cant find much info about either model model review wise.

the Lime is oak wood rather than briar. I am curious about the wood charring\burning around the top of the bowl when lighting if you aren’t exceptionally careful. Any experience on the forum?

Charring of the rim can occur with ANY pipe if not careful. DO NOT use butane jet-flame lighters under any circumstance (save them for your cigars) unless you have great aim and very steady hands. And definitely not after a few drinks, as I've found to my great regret :(

Use matches or soft-flame lighters.

Oak being softer than briar will char/burn more easily

Agreed! I’m wondering if Vauen did anything to protect the oak vs the much more resilient briar.
