Va/pers are overrated. Most of them seem to develop an unpleasant harshness in the last third of the bowl.
My favorite is Hal o' The Wynd. Other good ones are McConnell Scottish Cake and Flake, Old Gowrie, Dunhill Navy Rolls.
But I prefer a straight virginia.

C&D Carolina Red Flake with Perique

For heavier Perique presence, C&D Bayou Morning Flake.

Would like to try Viprati and Salty Dogs, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
