Unsealed Tobacco Packaging

I recently purchased 5 pounds of Newminster 400. When I opened the box I got a strong smell of the tobacco and saw bits of loose tobacco in the box. It was no surprise that I found two of the five open. Ziploc wide open on one and it looks like some is missing. The other wasn't sealed at the bottom and thankfully my reflexes prevent that pound from hitting the floor. Hahaha!

Have any of you experienced this before? I already contacted the vendor. Let's see what they say.

Happens all the time.... More often with some vendors than others.... I won't mention the worst shipping department by name (pipesandcigars) but I swear they have orangutans doing their packing.....

On a side note; it's called "shake" and it smokes as well as the flake you're going to destroy and burn anyway....

I'm sure it'll smoke fine. Just didn't expect some to be missing. Is what it is, I'm sure they will take care of it.

Did you weigh it? I see the huge difference but sometimes things like relative humidity can have a big effect on tobacco volume vs weight. Also, both might be 2 lbs together. Just offering a possible cause or two.

On a somewhat related note, a Denver distribution center postie was breaking into my boxes from a specific retailer and taking the contents. The case is still in the legal system but hopefully it stops similar thefts.

Yes worth weighing the total. The 1 pound units come in factory bags inside a box in my experience like other Mac Baren products. 5 pounds might come in larger bulk amounts and broken out by the retailer?

It definitely weighed less. They sent me five 1 pound boxes
