First a Vauen churchwarden. I like the thickness of the wood on the bowl; thicker than most churchwardens I have seen. It came with two stems, but only has one shank, so it's not like having two straws at the soda fountain.

Second a Stanwell Golden Danish 63. This is my first pipe with a rusticated finish. I think it suits the style. It looks to me like a branch coming off a tree trunk.

My goal is to have a dozen briars. I am now officially more than half way there. Now I need to get busy building a pipe rack for the boat.

Good lookin' pipes Phillip.

So, do ALL (or most) CW's have relatively thin bowls/walls and, if so, why please?

Di, for the most part I would say that-that is true.

It's probably just a weight thing.

I know I wouldn't want some of my free-hands to have a CW stem.

I might dislocate a my jaw.
See why I qualify most of what I post... :D

Somebody's always going to make a liar out of you.... :D

OohWaaah that CW is as prerty as prerty can be! It'll suit you Philip, you'll look so terribly, terribly distinguished :)
LOL at Lawrence's comment too. Can't wait for my eleventy seven CW's to arrive now to see what sort of thin or thick'ish' bowls they have.
