Thanks! I've read it can take a lifetime to color one so was impressed after only 2 months got it as a ebay findNice looking meer and looks like a good start on coloring.
I've never actually owned a meerschaum so this is second hand information. What I've read is that the shank and rim will color rather quickly, but for a nice even color to build up over the whole bowl takes a long time. I know they sell a special "coloring bowl" to supposedly speed up the process, but I can't say if they work or not. Thanks! I definitely enjoy my meerschaum smokes cool and can smoke all day from it, you should look into sadik yanik pipes, what that one is and got it for $95 he makes some awesome looking ones and never heard of a coloring bowl but I'm just going to smoke out of this one like crazy and not rotate it outI've never actually owned a meerschaum so this is second hand information. Now we'll wait for someone with some experience to come in and give us the real answers ?

I've gotten a few around $100 just have to keep an eye out I like collecting meers though have 11 lol, this is one of my favoritesI just went and looked up Yanik. He has 2 meers on smokingpipes for around $300. Nothing on ebay from him for less than $200 that has any sort of detail. It appears you got the deal of a century on yours! Great score!
That one's amazing. Looks like a nautical demon. You've definitely piqued my interest in Yanik's work.I've gotten a few around $100 just have to keep an eye out I like collecting meers though have 11 lol, this is one of my favorites
Does alot of mythology type stuff kind of a blurry photo but do a google image search of his pipes the detail he puts in it and everything is one of the best I've seenThat one's amazing. Looks like a nautical demon. You've definitely piqued my interest in Yanik's work.
Considering the size difference of Yanik and Kenan's pipes versus IMP or similar brands, their prices are a bargain. My Kenan skull is over 13 inches long.I just went and looked up Yanik. Looking great! Have you tried removing the stem by turning it clockwise? It appears the tenon insert has come out of your stem and remained in the mortise insert.Started coloring my meerschaum pipe pretty impressed with the coloring on it what do you guys think?
