I'm studying law and am wondering if there are any associations that focus on legal issues in the tobacco industry. I've come across a few firms that represent "big" tobacco in products liability claims, but I'm more interested in transactional issues. For example, how do companies manage new contracts, licensing deals, trademarks, etc. Do they hire firms or employ in-house attorneys?
I'm aware of the upcoming Tobacco Plus Expo in Vegas, but it seems more dedicated to supporting distributors and retailers than it does the legal community. Anybody know more about that show and whether it's a good start? I wouldn't mind Vegas as my first post-pandemic trip after all (if indeed our country will be fortunate enough).
