Hello everyone... I've been a pipe smoker - on and off for 40+ years now (more off than on, I admit) and I'm wondering what folk would recommend?

In the past, I've tried Clan, Three Nuns, Davidoff's Blue Mixture and Peterson's De Luxe Mixture (which has been my favourite till now. About 30+ years ago I remember enjoying (I think) Capstan, which was in a pale blue round tin. I live in the UK, so please bare that in mind if anyone would like to recommend anything - thanking you all in anticipation.

Welcome to the forum Vince!
Capstan and 3 Nuns won't be as you remember them, they're made in Denmark now.
Peterson's used to be made by Murray's in Ireland, now they're made in Germany, but still good.
You have a pretty good selection of stuff available, even Clan if you wanna try it,

A highly sought-after blend is Germain's Rich Dark Flake, we can't get it over here, but it's very close to our Stonehaven, if you like a smooth dark creamy smoke, I'd try it for sure!

Another good option would be 5g samples, a nice deal to survey different blends,

If you'd like to try American stuff, we're always open to trades (hobby supplies) thru the mail because we can't get any of your old codger newsagent blends like St. Bruno or Warrior Plug...
...keep the faith!

My favorite this year (so far) has been Peterson's Conoisseur's Choice, and I usually shun aromatic tobaccos in favor of fine Virginias, Orientals and Balkan blends. But that stuff is beyond delicious.

I like Peterson Irish Oak University Flake and Gold Blend; They're my preferred Petersons. As far as Dunhill I like 965, Night Cap and London Mixture. And since you used to smoke a Davidoff I love their Scottish Mixture.
