Is this guy for real or is the story an early April Fool joke?

For starters, the story says the guy's parents never authorised the picture's use but later states the band promised to cover his genitals with a sticker.....something doesn't add up there. Plus, the guy did further similar photo shoots as an adult so was clearly OK with the original picture.

So much of this whole story is just plain odd.

Thoughts anyone?

When Nirvana suddenly made unexpectedly huge amounts of money from this album, at some point they should have considered giving some of it to this guy or his parents. That would have been decent.
That being said, he seems like an ass to sue after all this time. When cases like this pop up, I always assume the accusers to be manipulated by greedy lawyers. There appears to be a whole industry in the U.S. of lawyers who specialize in this kind of nonsense.

This story came into my feed (I love Nirvana) today and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
This is the first I've heard of him having a problem with anything. He has recreated that famous photo/album cover as an adult and has a "Nevermind" tattoo ffs?‍♂️.
"Child porn"? This guy is most definitely taking the piss.

After the success of their first album the Ozark Mountain Daredevils rented a ranch in the Southern Ozarks & the 6 band members moved in together. Their record label provided funds for a complete remodel including equipment for a full recording studio. It was in that studio where all the songs were written & recorded for their second albums, "Men of Earth".

Some say their most successful album, the cover for Men of Earth featured local neighbors John & Roscoe Jones, father & son. For the publication rights to the pic which one of the band members took, the Jones were given a new chainsaw. Only because they needed one.

Roscoe Jones was mentally challenged & not capable of living on his own. When his father died a few yrs later he was moved to a nursing facility where he lived over forty yrs before passing away.IMG_7239.JPGIMG_7240.JPG

If they actually recognize him from the album cover it would be one of the most extraordinary cases of delayed puberty on record.
This is a tough room. All outrage, very little ha ha.
Some people are the type to look out their window and see someone urinating in the streets and say, "that is an example of end of civilization." Whereas, I am the type to see someone urinating in the street and think, "I don’t know what that guy's problem is, but I’m guessing it’s hard to pronounce." puffy

My post wasn’t an expression of outrage, it was my version of a snide joke. I reserve outrage for the important stuff in life, like when the delivery pizza is cold, or my order from Pipes & Cigars is a day late.

If I were to look out my window and see someone urinating (you say “someone” but the odds of course are overwhelming that anyone peeing in the street is a guy) my first thought would be “Portland hasn’t changed much over the last 40 years”.

Possibly a publicity stunt? In any event, weird enough. I hope this douche ends up having to pay court fees and his lawyer(s) get bupkis.
You are so mean. I hope he wins... and then is taken back to court by his exwife who will rake him through the coals. I mean, if you're gonna get on a roller coaster, might as well ride it out.
