Just want to shoot out too two members here. @Servant King and @cosmicfolklore.
The first has shared some rare (discontinued) samples with me that not only was just really generous but highly enjoyable. Got to try some amazing blends that I thoroughly enjoyed and gave me flights of fancy about figuring out how to recreate these gems.
Cosmic sent me what he calls 3.5oz. of his home grown tobacco (it's more then that) and it's great. Not the same experience as what I have bought in tins and bags. But it can certainly play in the same level as any of them. I can't really say how much I like it because I don't have the review skills to. It's a Va but certainly what we think of that as Semois is a burly. It's got a lot of neat little corners I don't usually find in tobacco. I'd love to see that strain or process applied by a Reeves or Pease or others that almost rhyme.

Happy to do it. I myself have been the beneficiary of multiple acts of great generosity from other forum members in my four years here, so this is my way of giving back. Well, so is the endless stream of sarcastic/obnoxious comments I leave on various threads here, but that's a conversation unto itself.

Good luck with the proposed replication attempts! I'm rather interested to hear how that turns out. As Jesse pointed out recently, concocting accurate match blends is a very rare and precious skill. Not that I'm trying to burden you with excess pressure, but if you end up falling short of being the next Carl McAllister (sp?), I'll be seriously disappointed. And I'll need what's left of those samples I sent returned to me. Full insurance, please. nnnn

Pipe smokers are some generous folk. When I first started I remember getting a care package from a forum member with some nice pipes and some great tobacco, though it was wasted on my 19 year old self. This was on an older forum but I'll never forget their generosity and one day hope to pay it forward. Though I do forget their username lol.

hobbiests are generous. Not all. A lot of pipe smokers wouldn't lend you a match.
