I'll eat eggplant parm in a restaurant on a rare occasion. I've got to be in the mood for it.

Okra is something I cannot stomach. I ate some baked okra once...horrible.

The best prep is as follows
1 slice and soak eggplant
2. Line a foil pan with them
3 throw it in the trash because eggplant is vile
4. Rethink your choices in life, determine where your life went off the rails so badly that you would choose to actually consume the horrid things.

I've always enjoyed eggplant. I still remember the first time I ever saw one. I was 5 years old. My grandmother had them growing in her garden. I was amazed at this giant, shiny, purple vegetable. It seemed like something magical, out of Willy Wonka or something. I wanted to try it right then and there. Oddly enough, I don't remember the first time I ate some. I know it was those eggplants from her garden, just don't remember anything except the encounter.
