The joy of trying a pipe from a new pipe maker.

I finally decided it was time to put fire to this lovely executed canted Boxwood capped Bulldog with long diamond shank.
The pipe is from the capable hand of Italian pipe maker Mimmo Provenzano from the Puglia region of Italy where my family is from.
I loaded it with St. Bruno Flake and it smokes great.

And you get to say Mimmo Provenzano when you tell about the pipe, which is worth the price in itself. The pipe looks striking. I like it when different finishes are brought together successfully. It's no small feat to make it work, but this pipe certainly does.

That pipe looks very good - love to see a side shot. Is the top of the bowl different than the lower bowl or just a light issue?

Here is a side view. You will see Mimmo used a thin band of black vulcanite at the transition of the briar to the Boxwood cap and it's hard to tell if the first portion of the Boxwood cap consists of a ring of Boxwood followed by a ring of natural briar and finished with Boxwood. However it was done I really like the look, regards.
