Could be, we’ll see. It’s been 6 months or so, time to give it another shot. I definitely do like the special brown, as well as blackjack.

I'm smoking through a tin of the Special Brown at this time. I thought it was fairly blase when it was fresh. In just two years, it has gotten richer and spicier. Really good blend.

Their entire line is very good, I believe they are made by K&K. Vintage is my favorite of the bunch but Golden Mixture was the first blend I tried of theirs. It was what Bertrand Russell smokes, or so the story goes.

Thanks for posting the link to this story!

Special Brown
Blackjack

I was underwhelmed by CVP, but it deserves another shot now that its been out of the tin a while.
I think it tastes like a pile of fermenting hay.

Special Brown
Vintage
Blackjack

are the ones I have liked so far.

Part of the problem with the wessex is the stoved virginias, which I found a bit flat. But then almost nobody makes stoved virginias the way I like them. McClelland did a great job. McConnell is pretty good and Watch City too. Not many good ones come to mind after that.

Special Brown is a favorite flake. Golden mixture is a really nutty ribbon. Wingate is a nice light English.

I have a pinch of their kendal brown most mornings these days.

Ha... yes I'm familiar with the gum (which was disgusting). But someone on tobacco review said the flakes were topped with anise. That's the only reason I asked.
