Wanted to try a stoved virginia to check for sweetness and I was kind of underwhelmed. I found it to be flat and singular in character (I know it's primarily a blending tobacco, and it is just a single tobacco). I guess I was expecting more.
The McClelland had several years of age on it.I tried it to see how it compared with a small sample I was gifted of McClelland's 2035 dark nay flake, which is also a stoved straight virginia. The 507S was't even close to the flavor of the 2035.
The first time I tried fresh Dark Navy Flake it was like smoking hot air. I though it was an absolute waste of money, so I threw it in a jar and forgot about it. A year or two later I stumbled across it again and figured, what the hell, and tried it again. Oh. My. God. It's wasn't even the same tobacco. Now unfortunately this was around the time that McClelland had announced their closure, so I bought all I could, but it's just not enough. Stick it in a jar for a year or two and revisit it.I tried it to see how it compared with a small sample I was gifted of McClelland's 2035 dark nay flake, which is also a stoved straight virginia. The 507S was't even close to the flavor of the 2035.
