With many people having extra time on their hands right now, Brian had a great idea to do Friday afternoon bonus shows with a different format and topics outside of pipes and tobacco.

This is an unedited conversation that is off the topic of our main show. These bonus episodes are intended to generate a discussion and maybe give you more insight into an area outside of pipes and pipe smoking. We hope that you will learn and maybe want to explore more in the subject after each episode. These shows will come out every Friday for the time and our regular episodes of the Pipes Magazine Radio Show will continue to be made available on Tuesday evenings at 8:00 PM Eastern Time. For our first food for thought, we talk great movies from different genres with retired Cinema and Humanities professor, Stan Levine who is also Brian’s Father. We hope you enjoy!

Thanks for the extra content, much appreciated. So many great movies, so little time.

You could’ve easily done an entire show on Kubrick. One of his great films, “Paths of Glory”, often gets overlooked.

Set amongst the carnage of WWI it’s a brutal film, with the brutality found not in the heat of combat but instead in the dispassionate disregard for life amongst the leadership. Well worth seeking out. Great performances by Kirk Douglas and many others.
