I think I paid about $350 a bottle at the distillery when it first came out. Jimmy and Eddie Russel were in the shop and signed a couple bottles. Jimmy was giving his son guff for releasing such an over-aged juice.....he actually jokingly apologized to me for spending bigger bucks on six bottles if I ended up not liking it ?. I'm a WT fan, and its my most favorite release from them.
Been to Scotland 4 times or so. The lower winter bounds there aren't that much different than KY, but KY bounces up to 90's/100's F in the summer while Scotland (I believe ?) putts along in the mid-low 60's. Hence a lot more wood-swappin' for the typical bourbon in the same amount of time.
