Starting to use Mylar bags 7mil, with clear fronts. Hopefully it works. I have larger for longer term and smaller for popping in the near term. They have ziplock and I heat seal them.

doing this to save space and weight. Plus it’s cheaper.

How about the others of y’all that use Mylar. Any experience with clear fronts?

Haven't used clear, but I stand by the regular 7mil ones. Used them for a couple years now, and they're 100% reliable thus far. I just take the wife's hair straightening iron to it, and boom, good to go. They're nice and cheap too, which was fortuitous last year when I had trouble getting good quality Ball brand jars in my area. There shouldn't be any detectable difference in quality between the regular ones and the clear fronted ones. Let us know how it goes!

Same thing but mine are all silver. I didn't see any advantage of a clear front. I haven't opened any yet, probably the oldest is nearing three years. Probably have near 100 lbs of bulk in mylar.
Holly mollllllly! 100lbs!?!? Man…I might be single involuntarily if I had that much. Hmmm….let’s see what happens.

Mylar is now all I use now for long term cellar storage. Glass mason jars get heavy. I switched over fully about 2 years ago after buying some tobacco from a guy who had it in mylar for 11 years prior. The tobacco was perfect. I'm a believer.

Totally anecdotal but my experience with the clear front mylar has been poor. They were much lower quality. The full mylar gusseted 5 and 7 mil have been bomber for 10 years.
