How rare is a Stanwell Queen? GR14 stamp - is that a grade or a shape? Any info on the chess series would be appreciated.

Good luck on getting/finding more information. I've been trying to track down info on four Stanwell Danish Star pipes currently in my possession.

I came to Stanwells after production moved to Italy, and I haven't procured any of the Danish-made pipes, but I will quietly mention that the current crop is more than satisfactory. My four Italian made briars -- two bulldogs, a Sixten Iverson designed pot, and a Canadian -- are sturdy open-draw pipes that look good and smoke in a most Stanwell way.

Well for arguments sake, let’s say it’s easy to find any Stanwell stamped pipe shape for a hundred bucks. A while ago I picked up a remarkably blasted potato sack for 60 bucks on eBay. If it had said “an Ivarsson product”, it would’ve 6000.
Just a bunch of wonderful old pipes out there, for very little money.

It is such a different pipe than the usual Stanwell. It might be the nicest Stanwell I have ever seen. Seems high end, at least for Stanwell.
