I've recently gotten back into loose leaf tea, but I still prefer coffee early in the morning until about noon.
My re-introduction to loose leaf teas has made me wonder if there are similar online retailers for coffe.
Any suggestions on a favorite blend or store?

Wow. There ARE online retailers for coffee. I don't use any though. I have an excellent local roaster who has farmers in Nicaragua who grow exclusively for him. He also travels and gets great beans from around the world.
This said, romeowood is who I consider to be an excellent source for both tea and coffee info here on the forums, as well as ravkesef
HERE is a thread from almost a year ago that delved into the subject.
HERE is the link to a Google search of the forums (which is the only RELIABLE way to search the forums for a certain subject and the only method I use).
Hope this helps!

*EDIT* - pruss' post is excellent as it the link to the thread he provided.

If you ever get in to roasting your own, you could try Sweet Maria's or Coffee Bean Direct.

I'm not a coffee person, but I do feel compelled to mention my girl just bought one of those stove top espresso makers and uses it to brew coffee and she loves it. It's like a percolator with a compression chamber which intensifies the flavors. She's been raving about it for weeks now.

I cold brew for my iced coffee and it makes a very nice cup of hot coffee with a 3-to-1 hot water to coffee concentrate raitio. Some say that iced coffee isn't coffee. To me it's the same as any blend. There will be those that dismiss it as trash and others that love it. To each, his own.

Thanks for the shoutout, Jason. Coffee forms a major part of our lives, much as tobacco does for those of us on the forum. While there are many who find a cup of Maxwell House fully satisfying as a morning wake up, the subtleties of flavor and fragrance offered by Specialty Coffee bring a distinct pleasure that an ordinary cup simply can't touch. And here's the thing--the cup you enjoyed last week May not be available next week because the individual farmer who produced it and sold it to a particular roaster won't have that same group of beans available until next year--or next month, depending upon what he's growing. Coffee, like tobacco, is an agricultural commodity, but variations according to terroir. and a host of other factors bring out a host of subtleties and delights not imagined by the drinker of generic coffee. (FYI--we have George Howell of Boston to thank for this--the living patron saint of specialty coffees.)
Right now I'm enjoying a cup of Yirgacheffe produced in the Gideo Zone of Ethiopia, and roasted by Mountain Air Roasters in Asheville, NC., while listening to the soundtrack from "Midnight in Paris." Sidney Bechet's "Si Tu Vois Ma Mère" is one of the most moving pieces ever written. What am I smoking, you ask? Is it important? Aye, there's the rub. Well, if the pipe and the tobacco are important, then so is the coffee with which it is consumed.

I'm an espresso fan and love to find & rebuild vintage lever espresso machines. Here are my Olympia Club and Arrarex Caravel. They both will pull excellent espresso but specialize in different ways from each other.

"Arabian Mocha Java. Do any of you experts know of a really good dark roasted Mocha Java?"
Try Coffee Bean Direct. They probably sell Mocha Java. Pay a few more pennies and they will grind it for you.
Here it is: http://www.coffeebeandirect.com/mocha-java.html
They are out of stock but they have a pretty quick turn around time. I think when you order the beans you have an option for how dark you want the roast. I typically buy the green beans so I am not too sure.

The chain of brewery/restaurants I work for replaced the coffee makers with contraptions that rehydrate liquid concentrate with hot water to make "coffee". I walked into work one morning early like always, and ran into a guy putting in a big square box where the coffee machine used to be. He said it "was" real coffee and much cheaper with less waste. I turned around, went to the big box store down the block and bought 3 coffee makers, one for each brewery. My assistants and I kick in every couple of weeks and buy fresh roasted coffee beans from a local roaster and have fresh real coffee in the breweries every morning. Don't mess with my morning coffee!

Is that what that is in a can on the back of a coffee machine? I go to a office setting on business about once a month. They have new coffeemakers that make coffee into an airpot type thermos, but there is a can in line on the back of the coffee maker. I was even there one day when the coffee service guy came in and replaced the can and threw the old can in the trash. I wondered what that was for.

One word of advice: never buy pre-ground coffee. Good coffee is brewed immediately after grinding,as it loses its flavor rapidly after grinding. That wonderful aroma you get from ground coffee are volatile components making their way into the atmosphere.

I don't know about the can you're talking about. The coffee concentrate for our machines comes in plastic "bags" or better description, soft plastic boxes which are placed inside the machine. You select size of serving by poking the appropriate button on the front of the machine and a measured amount of concentrate is mixed with a measured amount, probably 15-20 times as much hot water and it dispenses into your container. I've smelled and tasted the stuff just enough to convince myself that its not my cup of tea, so to speak. Maybe the can you're describing is a water filter.

I love coffee. All coffee except weak coffee. If it burns through the hull of a battleship, it's almost ready. That said, I love Ethiopian coffee when I can find it and, second, afford it. On the rez here, all the coffee in the market is canned, so you just have to go with the flow, so to speak. But as long as it's hot, strong, and not hiding behind cream and sugar, I'll love it. The U.S. Army taught me about the virtues of lifer juice. Since then, I've loved coffee.
But if you're going to spend the extra buck, I'd say Ethiopian Harar. It's the best I ever tasted.

I'll add 2 that I've been buying from:

The Coffee Exchange in Providence, RI

Baby's in Key West, Fla
Great roasters and prompt service. These places are premium priced but worth every penny.
