Mix #1:
80% C&D Dark Burley, 20% C&D White Burley
This is a good strong straightforward business smoke, but one with a lot of nuance, too.

Mix #2
Same as mix Mix#1, but with a pinch of izmir Turkish (I use Ramback, lately) to take the edge off the burley.

Mix #3
80% Izmir Turkish, with 20% Mix#1. This really brings out the chocolate notes in the dark burley the floral spice wildness of the Izmir. I think the flavors work well together.

Mix #4
This one is all about showcasing the Izmir: 80% Izmir, 15% white burley, and 5 % dark burley.

I'm still tweaking these, and experimenting in other ways too, but I'm smoking these basic mixes again and again the last several months, really enjoying them.

Love to hear about other Turkish-Oriental-Burley mixes if any of you have suggestions.

Dan/DTM manufacture White and Dark Burleys and Oriental blending tobacco under the Torben Dansk label. They are very good on their own and in blends similar to what you describe.
