The pipe was smoked once by the previous owner. But then he liked it so he smoked it again and again and again. He smoked it once in the morning, once late morning, once around lunch, once in the middle of the afternoon, once on the drive home, once after dinner, once before bed. And then smoke it once again the next day and the day after that and the day after that etc.

Pipe Dreamer and Star Gazer
I’ve got in a least a dozen Lee Three Star grade pipes that had been smoked less than half of a bowl.

You can see Dad by the Christmas tree, the wife and kiddies excited to see Daddy get his ten dollar pipe and a pound of Prince Albert!

Daddy puts down his package of Camels and lights up his Lee and that’s all, folks.;)
So true. But what you forgot to say is…

Unfortunately, lies have become the currency of commerce, alas. It probably isn't 100% cotton; you probably can't wear it to a wedding or to play tennis; it probably won't make any of your wrinkles go away, and so on.

Interestingly, fortunes have been made in telling the truth. Whatever unscrupulous things might have gone on behind the scenes, the Sears and Roebuck catalog was famous for describing its merchandise with exacting accuracy.

Their customer base was farmers and working people across the country who had limited money to spend and needed the merchandise to match its description in an exacting way, qualities and limitations.

For about a century, Sears followed that path and sold everything from ukuleles to materials for an entire house with nails, bolts, doors and windows, and instructions. Many of those houses are still standing and prized for their durability and design.

When Sears was put out of business as a retailer by online sales, truth went into the deep freeze as a business plan. Who knows? Maybe one day it will return in some form or another.

Smoking pipes.com seems to take some pages from that playbook.
