I cleaned my corncob with rum and left for work, when I got home there was what looks like small white crystals in the bowl. What could this be?

This is the best picture I could get of it but that white spot is shiny like crystals. I’ll try and get better pictures for you

Could that even be a thing? I’ve tried googling it but I guess if you google “pipe” and “crystals” in the same sentence you get stuff about meth pipes and mold on tobacco. But nothing about the pipe itself.

It's common, you are burning a little too hot and starting to char the bowl. Leave it as is and smoke a little slower/cooler, pay attention to the heat, especially when breaking in a pipe. It's ok to let the pipe go out from time to time. When the pipe goes out use your pipe pick and empty out the smoked ash portion, not the unsmoked tobacco, even out unsmoked tobacco and relight. Continue to smoke the pipe to build up a small layer of cake, which is more heat resistant.

I have a update for you guys. I did what jpmcwjr said and let it sit for about a day and more crystals showed up.

It’s only happening in this one pipe, my other 3 don’t have these crystals in them but I clean them all the same way.

All I really want to know is what are they and is it safe to smoke out of it or should I scrape the cake out and let it build up again? And could this actually just be sugar?
