Wow!!! Thats your first meer? Congrats, she's a beauty. I've been dying for a yanik meerschaum, just couldn't bring myself to bid that high. Please post how she smokes.

Thanks gang. I'm impressed with the carving too. I also like the fact that Yanik uses a delrin mortise and tenon system to attach the stem to the shank of the pipe. I worry about screw on systems in meerschaum, mostly because I don't trust myself to keep from over-turning.

I will do. The draw is good, no whistle, it's wide open. I'll fire up a bowl tonight and post thoughts. I have been watching Yanik auctions for almost a year, and was pleased to get this pipe under everyone else's radar. With shipping I was all in at $100. So keep watching, you'll never know what speaks to people, and who's eye-balling the auction.
I was, and remain, impressed with the wax/coating that this pipe came in... do any of you experienced meer pipers have insight for me on how long this coating will keep before it either degrades, erodes, cooks off, or gets absorbed into the meerschaum?
Cheers,
-- Pat

Wonderful meer guys, thanks for showing. Need to take a pic of my dragon, which, despite smoking, is still white :-(
@Jonasclark : The bedouin is absolutely the most beautiful meer I've ever seen, thanks for sharing that beauty !!

These aren't pipes, but they are meerschaum.
My meer cigarette holder. I use it for cigarillos. It has a better patina now then the picture shows:

Here's a really old one called the Caveman -- I don't smoke it too much.

Protective sleeve of chamois rolled back onto stem.
